This weeks blog post is the first motorcycle route planned by Biker's Hub! The route will take you from Buckingham out to Towcester and through country roads through to Silverstone and then back to Buckingham. The route takes around 1 hour but obviously depends somewhat on riding style! The route will see you pass a couple of biker friendly cafes also, perfect for a stop off to grab a tea or bite to eat....
To start off with, take the A422 out of Buckingham towards Milton Keynes. This is a nice national speed limit road with a few bends thrown in for fun :-) Continue along this road until you reach the roundabout at Old Stratford. Here you swing a left (1st exit) onto the A5.
Head through Pottersbury (stopping at the Super Sausage Cafe if you wish) and on towards Towcester. Ride through Towcester and stick to the A5 head straight over the next roundabout.
Continue along the A5 until you see an Isuzu commercial vehicle sales business. Immediately after this is a left turning towards Litchborough (this is the second signposted turning to Litchborough. DON'T take the first one by mistake!), take this turning. Enjoy this nice road with some great views of the open countryside into the village of Litchborough.
Continue through the village and then on towards Maidford. Once in Maidford take the left turning towards the picturesque village of Blakesley. Once there take the right turn onto the High Street. Then take a left turn towards Bradden and Slapton. Continue along this road all the way to Silverstone. This road passes through some brilliant English countryside so enjoy the views and fun bends it has to offer!
As you come into Silverstone, take the right turning onto West End (the turning is after the Silverstone sign and by the 30mph signs). Once you have gone by the houses the road gets quite thin in parts so take care, although it's only a short section. When you get to the T junction, take a left onto the A413. At the T junction turn right to stay on the A413 (this will be signposted to Silverstone Race Track with one of those brown tourist info signs). This is a lovely road to ride down and will take you past the race track, through the villages of Dadford, Stowe and Chackmore before taking you back into Buckingham :-)
As always, care must be taking when riding as there are a lot of country roads involves and we all know that the condition of our roads is not great so please watch out for potholes, gravel etc.....
Enjoy the ride if you get time to head out, like I said only take around an hour from Buckingham and well worth doing! If you like the look of this route, please share it using the buttons under the map!
