Very Silly People

On 19/07/2016 at 16:13

Today, I've seen people on an assortment of bikes - scooters, mini bikes through to sports bikes - riding in t's, shorts and - believe it or not - sandals - and no gloves. It's hot, I know, and if i was riding today I'd be in my tea-bag jacket (air-flow material with armour in usual places -back, shoulder and elbows) and my bike jeans which are much the same - armoured knees and padded thighs with kevlar in strategic places and summer gloves. This as an absolute minimum.
I know it seems tempting, but as a person once stupid enough to ride not wearing protective clothing and having paid the price, I can tell you unequivocally - don't. And especially your pillion, as you are responsible for them too. A girl in hot-pants, t shirt and trainers. She'll never wear them again of she has a spill today.
Thing About It - then go look on youtube or google 'motorcycle injury pictures' - and then click the 'images' tab - if you have a strong stomach.
Ride safe, enjoy.
Life is a series of ever-faster bike journeys - as time begins to run out. But, I'm not finished yet...

I always wear leathers even on a day like today, the hottest day of the year! I get it must feel nice to wear shorts and t-shirt but surely not worth the risk......

I normally wear Shirt + Jeans (and hoodie) but today was just shirt... I am getting leathers next month and I don't think about it when I go out but I always know if I ever came off I will pay the consequence... It did feel extremely nice today just in a shirt+jeans with the sun on my arms but it won't be like that for long...

(I do wear boots and gloves though, I can't ride my bike without gloves because it just feels too weird... Even if I just take my gloves off and ride my bike into my back garden lol)
