London Commuters

On 24/10/2016 at 11:53

Morning gents,

My name is Dave and I'm a commuter - Surrey to London

I ride a Dorsoduro 1200 which is a bit of a beast and perhaps a little overkill for commuting - but you need some fun out or life right?

Ive been riding for 12 years but I'm always interested in improving my skills, I have attended a BikeSafe course and I'm toying with the idea of doing some advanced training elcewhere

Would be interested in hearing if anyone has any particularly good or bad advanced training they have done- or if this forum is doing any member deals on training days?

Anyway - hello all!

Hi Dave, welcome to the site matey :-)

Improving your skills is never a bad thing, I am looking at doing a BikeSafe course in the new year myself. Another member joined up recently who has done some advanced training maybe he will pop along and give you his thoughts on it..... At the moment the forums are still new so no deals arranged at the moment but it is a good idea for me to try and get us a members discount on! Will look into :-)

Dave,

I have been in touch with the good folk at IAM Road Smart who run advanced motorcycle courses normally for £149. At the moment they are offering these for just £99 which is a good saving! This is only valid for the next two weeks with promo code COUNTRY16 when you book online https://www.iamroadsmart.com/courses/advanced-rider-course I am awaiting a response from them for a long term discount for Biker's Hub members but it is unlikely to be as much, we shall see!

Sounds amazing, the IAM are a very good organisation apparently - I won't have any time until after Christmas now but very interested in hearing if you can get us any member discounts!

Good work sir!
