Old noob.

Hi all, Alan's the name, 55 year old and just getting back to the bike after a 30 year lay off for house, kids and injury. I had a big accident in March 86, which resulted in the amputation of my right leg below the knee, so to keep the family happy, I stayed off the bikes, time moves on and I have an itch to scratch, so after doing the CBT and theory, I was just in the process of doing the modules when I had a seizure 7 weeks ago, resulting in a 6 month compulsory cessation of licence, which may result in a longer period of no driving, depending on the results of my coming visit to the neurologist, fingers crossed, I'll won't be suffering from any long term problems, apart from the fact I have no memory from 1984 to the present day, I can remember how to do things, just not events, no recollection of my mother dying, losing my leg or the birth of our kids, it may come back, it may not, only time will tell.

Alan.

Hey Alan, welcome to the forum!

Sounds like you have had a bit of a tough time there, I hope you can get some of the good memories back :-(

Have you done Mod 1 or do you still need to do that? Fingers crossed all is well with your appointment with the neurologist and you can get cracking with things. Keep us updated mate, wishing you well :-)

Thanks Mark, I've not done either module yet, It'll be mid April at least till I get my licences back, then I have to get some lessons and the tests booked, because of my injury, the tests will take twice as long as I have to demonstrate that I can control the bike, because of the amputation, I have a thumb brake fitted under the clutch lever, which works fantastic, but I need to do some fettling to get it perfect, but that won't be very difficult.
Looking forward to feeling the wind in my ha...hang on....I don't have any!!!!!!
